Nigel Drives a Bentley Azure and Drives Me Into a Moment of Envy

Bentley Azure at the ManorHonestly, I try not to be jealous of those who are wealthier than me (that's almost everyone I know personally) or those who experience things I can only dream about. And I'm sure my friend Nigel Mathews deserves every break he gets. Still, when he sent this photo accompanied by a brief tale about his recent trip to England, I experienced a moment of sheer envy. First, Bentley invites Nigel to drive the new 2007 Azure convertible, which goes for a paltry $500,000… then sends a chauffeur-driven Arnage to take him to the factory in Crewe, and even returns him from his mother's house back to Heathrow Airport. Nigel reports that he had the Azure for a week but discovered it was too big for the small UK country roads (I could have told him that, for goodness sake). He suggests the Bentley is an ideal Palm Springs car (push a button and the seat will massage your back for ten minutes!) and also admits that a tank of gas cost him $136. At that price my envy disappeared faster than a Tim Horton donut on a drizzly Vancouver morning.
