Christmas Model Dazzles in Gold

I figure I'd share what I found recently at Classical Drive:

55 Chevy Bel AirBack in 1955, General Motors had many happy things to celebrate, among them the production of its 50-millionth vehicle. So the corporation unveiled a special commemorative edition of the 55 Chevrolet Bel Air, a car that symbolised with its appearance all that was good about life in America in those halcyon years. A one-of-a-kind classic, this special edition automobile featured a luminous gold paint job. The original is consigned to history but the spirit of that famous Chevy lives on in the form of a beautiful 1:24 scale model by the Franklin Mint, hand-assembled using more than 100 parts; painted in gold, of course. As well, the bumpers, grille, bezels, trim and wheel covers have all been plated in 24kt gold. Produced in a limited edition of just 9900 pieces worldwide, the model is still available, base included, for $155.00. The precision model shown here can be ordered from the Cellini gift shop in Portland, OR, and if you hurry they can probably ship it in time for Christmas. A sure-to-be-cherished gift for the classic car enthusiast.
