RM at the Biltmore
If you don't read Classical Drive, you're missing out on stuff like:
All the Scottsdale auctions are fascinating and fun but for this automobile journalist the RM Auction at the Arizona Biltmore is the one I most look forward to seeing. The cars are the finest, rarest, best kept or restored, and the setting at the historic luxury resort and spa is magnificent. Inspired by the designs of consulting architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Biltmore was crowned "The Jewel of the Desert" when it opened in 1929. The conference center, where the auction is held, was built in 1973, maintaining the characteristic Frank Lloyd Wright style. A perfect background, then, for this lovely 1936 Packard Dual Windshield Phaeton, which went for $330,000 after some spirited bidding by two eager gentlemen. I'd say the winner did well for himself, as that price for this car seems quite reasonable.
