Barrett-Jackson Showing a Slowdown?
The Barrett-Jackson auction this year brought in a smaller pot than last year. I happened to attend last year with my friend. He went again this year (living in Arizona hath its priveledges) and gave me a report on the show. The average car sold for less this year than last year. They did tone down the "extremely rare" tone of the auction (how "extremely rare" can that 427 Corvette be if there are six here at the auction?) but we didn't see the sky-high price for the average muscle car we saw last year.
Is this indicative of a trend? Is the cycle coming around full circle? Ferraris used to be the big draw at B-J, perhaps we'll see them reemerge as the queens of the show.
